Savor the Tastes of Italy and Tuscany with Your Choice of a Collection of Four Fine Italian Red Wines (Twelve Bottles Total), Including Tasting Notes and a Recorded Video Tasting and Wine Consultation

Open up two boxes of impeccable flavors, intense aromas, vibrant colors and enchanting history when you receive your collection of four critically-acclaimed Italian red wines. You’ll find labels and vintages that are hard to find in the US, with high critic scores, which have been skillfully curated by an exceptional sommelier team, including Tuscan gems and a selection of prime wines from the Italian regions of Veneto and Piedmont. Included in your collections are descriptive notes for each wine, as well as a video presentation and guided tasting by a knowledgeable sommelier.

Of the four kinds of Tuscan wine you’ll receive in your Classic Tuscany box will be Brunello di Montalcino Verbena, a wine that is robust and easy to drink. The skillful assembly of the grapes from the different terroirs of Northern and Southern Montalcino give soul and life to this purebred Sangiovese wine. Also made from Sangiovese grapes, Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Montemercurio Messaggero has an intense ruby red, and aromas that consist of typical ripe berries and plum, followed by hints of vanilla and licorice, cloves and black pepper. After being aged in Slavonian oak vats for a minimum of 18 months, and then moved to smaller vats for at least six months, this wine is moved into a bottle for one additional year of aging. Montepulciano has always been one of the most important and scenic wine areas in Tuscany, and its enduring blends are rooted in history.

In your Taste of Italy box, you’ll find wines that originate in Italy’s northwest and northeast regions. Made of Nebbiolo grapes in the Piedmont region of Italy is the winery Tenuta L’Illuminata, which boasts an excellent location for growing grapes, soil with magnificent characteristics, and ideal weather conditions that combined to create a superb Barolo that is both elegant and pleasant. Barolo Tenuta L’Illuminata boasts a ruby red color with light orange reflections. The nose is clean and intense, with notes of cherry, plum jam, vanilla and hay, while the taste is full, mineral, harmonious, and warm, with soft tannins and a persistent finish that is reminiscent of licorice and tobacco. Sip the enveloping, intense and soft flavors of Amarone Della Valpolicella Corte Giara, which comes from one of the most emblematic winemakers in Piedmont, the Allegrini family, dedicated to viticulture for over 400 years. They’ve created a wine that reflects tradition while also giving it a modern take, and this one has a deep, impenetrable ruby red color, a result of the accumulation of polyphenols caused by the initial withering of the grapes. The bouquet impresses with its powerful fruit scents, boasting an extraordinary prevalence of ripe cherries and marasca cherries, which merge with pleasant peppery spices and cloves.
